Our annual fundraising event, Where Troubles Melt Like Lemon Drops, was successful! We truly appreciate everyone’s support and celebration of our volunteers. As a non-profit organization that does not generate revenue, we rely on donations to continue serving our community and the children of Ripley County, Indiana. We are planning the event for this year, so SAVE THE DATE!

The Children We Serve

Each year in Ripley county, nearly 100 abused and neglected children face the future without a home to call their own. SEI Voices For Children has advocated for 166 children between January 1, 2022, thru October 27, 2022. These children are often placed in foster care, whether with a foster family or a group home. However, many child victims are left in their homes where the abuse occurred. These children have done nothing wrong but are simply victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. As reports of abuse and neglect crowd court dockets, more and more children are navigating this confusing system maze. In Indiana, the statistics show that incidents of child abuse have increased consistently each year for the past three years. Indiana Department of Child Services received 230,246 hotline calls for the fiscal year of 2021. According to data provided by DCS, Indiana had over 10,000 children in out-of-home placements in April 2022.

The Voices of Children Volunteers

Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc. is helping to make a difference through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer program. These volunteers are recruited and trained to advocate for children's best interests inside and outside the courtroom. They work with attorneys, mental health professionals, and service providers to meet the needs of these children and help them find safe, permanent homes. The volunteers are the voice of the children in the court and advocate for the children's best interests. The volunteers use their cars, gas, time, and other resources to advocate for children.
