The Student Council of Southwestern Elementary School completed a donation drive yesterday of items to donate to our CASA kiddos! When discussing a charity option for their spring drive, they came up with the idea to help victims of child abuse. Voices staff met with the student council's fearless leader, Shannon Dattilo, and the idea of "KIds Care Cabinet" was born! The plan was for the students to bring in donations of small items for our CASA children that will be stored in a "shopping" area for our CASA volunteers! Our volunteers will be able to come in and pick out items for the kids they serve for special days or events, such as a change in placement, a new school, adoption days, reunification days, birthdays, or even just a day they need extra support! In addition to collecting donated items for the "Kids Care Cabinet" , the students also created handmade cards for the children we serve. We are so amazed by the outpouring of effort and support these children have given to this project! We are thrilled to pick up the 2,900 items they collected!!! Thank you, Southwestern Elementary!!!! :)
